Lettre d’Andrea & Sonja à Niji-Kan

Dear friends,

I can hardly believe it, but Horangi Taekwondo turned 25 years in January 2025.

A quarter of a century of Taekwondo at SC Janus – what an incredible journey it has been to get here. So many people who have trained with us in Cologne and accompanied us for longer or shorter periods of time, many wonderful encounters at Pink Power in Munich and Cologne, at the TIP in Paris and the Gay Games. Sebastian, Allen, Sandy, Ken, Antoine, Marie, Christian, Etienne, Oliver, Darl, Alain and many, many more colleagues and so many good memories.

We may got older, we may got grey hair, we may have other things in life, but Martial Sports and queer sports are still an important part for us. Since the rightwings are getting strong all over the world, be believe in being stronger together.

We would be delighted to see many of you again for our anniversary. We’ll be celebrating ourselves and martial arts at the 3rd Janus Queer Games on the Whitsun weekend in Cologne (June 6^th – 9^th). Perhaps a good preparation and promotion for the Eurogames Lyon? We could plan a workshop for this, too.

There will be another colorful training day on June 7th with workshops in the various disciplines. The Sissi Boxers, the first queer boxing group in Europe, to be at our side for 12 years and in addition to workshops in Taekwondo, Self Defense and Karate, we have parallel boxing sessions throughout the day. The boxing takes place right next door in the professional boxing gym of SC Colonia.

@Trainers: We are happy about every workshop in your discipline, please write to me, the more the merrier.

Around the Queer Games, there will once again be a street festival for the opening, plus a party and drag brunch, a queer city tour, hike and more. A colorful, queer weekend Whitsun in Cologne.
